How I work
What's your style of photography?
My main aim is to provide you with a visual story of the day, and therefore my style is very much reportage/documentary. This means capturing real moments, details and candid photos in a mostly non-staged way. However, I appreciate that family and clients have a need for a small selection of formal group photos, so please read on below.
Do you take group, formal & posed photos?
I photograph weddings in a documentary style. It’s important for me to focus on working in this way so I can get those lovely, natural shots without interrupting you and your guests. I won’t relentlessly pose guests; instead I will photograph them as they chat and enjoy the day. I am discreet yet super friendly; often people think I must be a friend of the couple!
However a short list of group photos do play an important part in your memories of the day and I organise this with you in advance to make sure they are done swiftly in a relaxed way. I will ask you for a list before the wedding which I will coordinate on the day – I recommend up to 8 groups which shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes.
Additionally to this, I love to get photos of the couple on their own in a quiet place. Again these portraits are relaxed and informal. We often go off for around 15 minutes during the drinks reception, then a bit later during ‘golden hour’ to capture you in that lovely evening light.
How many photos do we get?
I will work all day (with a break over the meal to refuel!) taking as many images as I can and I do not limit this number. In terms of the final photos I give to you; it can vary depending on the length of the day, the size of the wedding, the location or the weather. I personally select the best photos from those taken to create the final selection. You should expect approximately 400-600 fully edited JPEG images for a full day’s coverage (morning preparations through to the dance-floor).
Do you retouch photos?
Mostly for every hour I spend shooting a wedding = an hour + in post production making sure every image is as perfect as it can be. They will be edited in my signature style you see across my website and social media. I don’t airbrush images in a way that appears false, over-edited or making features or people appear dramatically different.
What kit do you use?
I use two professional, full-frame Sony Mirrorless cameras with a collection of prime and zoom lenses for different situations. I have lighting equipment should we need it, although I mostly work with natural light where possible. I use flashlights on the dance floor. I have a thorough backup process for your photos post-wedding.
What’s the process?
How far do you travel?
I travel all over the UK for weddings. If you’re more than 1 hour drive away, I will travel to the location the night before, that way I’m with you in good time.

Who owns the copyright of the images?
The copyright of the images always remains with the photographer, but I give clients the rights to reproduce the images in any way you wish. The only thing you cannot do with the images is use them for commercial re-sale.
How long have you been a photographer?
I started out as a photographer in 2011 whilst completing my BA Hons Photography degree. I started shooting weddings, events and portraits, and weddings struck a chord with me so that’s what I specialise in and have been photographing ever since!
Do you work with a second photographer?
I mostly shoot weddings on my own as this best suits the way I work and my style of photography.
However there are times where an extra pair of hands are needed; if you’d like photos of both of you getting ready in the morning, or the venue and size of your wedding requires extra coverage. Every wedding is different and unique, so the need for this can be discussed before the wedding.
Are you insured?
Absolutely! As a professional photographer I am fully insured for both public and professional indemnity.
How do we book?
Once you’ve let me know you’d like to book, I’ll set up an online client portal for you where you’ll need to:
Fill out the Booking Form
Pay a 20% Booking Fee invoice via BACS.
Sign your Contract online

Your data may be held on my password-protected Google Drive applications & files for up to 3 years. I will remove all data upon request as required by GDPR.
